• Head of Operations

This is an executive role reporting to the CEO. Working with the Executive Management Team you will be responsible for delivering the strategic aims and objectives of the business. Your specific area of responsibility will be the operational performance of the core business function. You will be instrumental in bringing about change and developing our organisation to the benefit of our people and our network.

You will be an effective communicator with the ambition to be aiming high, and have the drive to take us with you. You will have excellent relationship-building skills at all levels and the determination and influence to bring about real change in a dynamic organisation.
Ideally you will have experience gained from within the industry.

• Night Operations Manager

Reporting to the Head of Operations you will be responsible for managing the night operation.

The successful candidate will have an analytical and problem solving mindset with exceptional people management and communication skills. A strong health and safety awareness is essential along with experience of working in a fast paced, pressured environment. The role holder will Co-ordinate and manage all activities taking place during the night operation (this will include: sortation process, transport and maintenance) and review, challenge and implement changes to operating procedures and processes to ensure optimum service levels and efficiencies are achieved (both in respect of improving cost and performance levels).

• Class One Driver - Edinburgh Based

An opportunity has arisen within our Edinburgh depot for a Class one driver. The main objective of the role is to drive a double manned HGV to and from our National Sortation Centre in the West Midlands in a timely and professional manner. You will be expected to carry out daily checks on your vehicle and any other general driver/warehouse duties as the position requires.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, as well as ability to plan your time well. A clean driving licence is essential (class 1) as well as a full CPC qualification being required. You will also need a digital tacho card and for insurance purposes the successful applicant must be over the age of 25.

• Multi-drop Driver

The APC is an overnight parcel delivery company with 115 independently owned depots throughout the UK. We pride ourselves on consistently achieving high levels of on-time deliveries and providing an exceptional level of service to our customers.

Due to expansion we currently have a vacancy for 3.5t Multi-drop Drivers. This position will be based at our Newbridge Depot and deliveries will be primarily throughout the Edinburgh region. The number of drops/ collections will vary per day and per route.

The successful candidate will have a full driving licence, previous driving experience, knowledge of Edinburgh and the surrounding area and a positive attitude.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 45 per week (which includes a 30 minute paid lunch break) and Saturdays on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential as from time to time there will be the requirement to work additional hours to cover holidays and sickness and during peak trading periods.

• Ledger Manager

Due to our growth, we are currently looking to recruit a Ledger Manager. Daily tasks will include – the management and development of the ledger team, ensuring transactions are processed correctly and within acceptable timescales, HMRC compliance including the maintenance of a self billed invoice system, approval of supplier applications, payments, credit terms and other order limits. This role also requires preparation of month end reporting, ensuring that agreements and contracts in place are adhered to, and assessment of systems, processes and controls and workflow documentation, proactively undertaking projects including a review of accounting and ERP packages.

The successful applicant must have experience with ERP system and change management, people management experience along with excellent communication, organisation and timekeeping skills. Be enthusiastic, accurate and diligent with strong excel skills.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.00 with a one hour break period.
